Visiting

DAY 1 • INÍRIDA
DAY 1 • INÍRIDA

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by local guides, who will drive you in Land Rover Safari vehicles to the hotel, where we will check in and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterward, we will embark on a land excursion to the Kenke Ethno-Cultural and Ecological Park. In this fascinating place, we will have the opportunity to admire the Inírida flower in its natural habitat, an endemic resource of the region that blooms in the Amazonian savannas. This beautiful area is protected and cared for by an indigenous family, who, with great pride in their roots, will share their wisdom about the environment, culture, customs, and local cuisine. Additionally, we will be able to enjoy a spectacular sunset. Finally, we will return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

DAY 2 • INÍRIDA
DAY 2 • INÍRIDA

At the scheduled time, we will begin our boat journey along the Inírida River, heading towards the town of Amanaven on the banks of the Guaviare River. We will pass by the mouth of the Inírida River where it meets the Guaviare River, and continue towards the Star of the South or Humboldt’s Star. We will continue our journey to Maviso, located on the Atabapo River, where we will enjoy a brief swim in its cool, reddish waters. Next, we will visit the Coco Artisan Community and the Amarru Rock Art Park before returning to Inírida for lunch. In the afternoon, we will depart upstream on the Inírida River heading towards the Mavecure Hills, impressive rock formations in the heart of the Amazon jungle, bordered by the winding river. We will arrive at the indigenous community of El Venado, where our camp is located: a comfortable, typical Maloca of the Curripaca culture, perfectly situated between the three hills and along the banks of the Inírida River. The camp offers accommodation with beds, camping areas, and hammock zones, permanent solar energy, bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, a beach, and wide gardens. We will start our trek along the lookout trail and enjoy the sunset by the Mavecure Hills. Afterward, we will head back to camp for a refreshing shower and dinner. Enjoy a bonfire, canelazo, and stargazing! Overnight stay at the camp.

NOTE: Tonight, we will sleep in tents (individual or shared) or hammocks. Beds are subject to availability.

DAY 3 • INÍRIDA
DAY 3 • INÍRIDA

Very early in the morning, accompanied by our indigenous guide, we will ascend the Mavicure Hill, making stops along the way to enjoy the sunrise and the breathtaking landscape. We will return to camp for breakfast and then embark on a walk to the multiethnic community of Venado, where we’ll take a brief tour. From there, our boat will take us to Caño San Joaquín, where we can relax in its cool waters and enjoy natural red wine made from the tannins in the jungle leaves. Afterward, we will return to camp for a traditional lunch featuring typical dishes from Amazonian cultures. In the afternoon, we will start our journey towards the city of Inírida, with a short stop at the Ceiba community. Here, we will have the chance to purchase local handicrafts, learn about the stingless bee project, and observe the freshwater dolphins (Toninas) as they surface. Overnight accommodation.

DAY 4 • INÍRIDA
DAY 4 • INÍRIDA

We will head either by foot or by canoe, depending on the water level, towards the Lagoon of the Witches and the Concordia community. Once there, we will have time to swim in the lagoon, paddle, and take a walk, while our indigenous guides from the Kubeo ethnicity, Memín or Javier, share fascinating legends from their culture. Afterward, we will return to the hotel for lunch, and finally, we will transfer to the local airport to catch our return flight (flight not included).

ITINERARY AND VISITS

  • This itinerary may change due to road conditions, weather, unforeseeable factors, or availability at the time of booking.
  • It’s possible that the order of the itinerary may change, but the content will remain the same.
  • This is an adventure expedition to one of the most isolated and remote regions of the country. Tourism infrastructure is almost nonexistent. The participants should be prepared to walk under the sun, on rocky and sandy terrain of the Orinoquía savanna.
  • At the camping sites, there are no bathrooms or showers. A portable latrine will be installed, and you can bathe in the rivers (without using soap).
  • Please note that the use of single-use plastics is prohibited in areas of the National Natural Parks System designated for ecotourism, except for single-use plastics for medical purposes (due to hygiene and aseptic reasons). Only reusable items are allowed.
  • Please bring as few wrappers, cans, or glass containers as possible, and remember to take all non-biodegradable waste back with you. “If you bring it in your bag, it should come back in your bag.”
  • Do not bring military-style clothing (camouflage).
  • Do not bring or consume toxic substances, psychoactive or hallucinogenic substances, and refrain from excessive alcohol consumption.
  • Do not bring jewelry or valuable objects (please leave your Rolex and Cartier earrings at home).
  • During hikes, do not separate from the group, do not get ahead, and do not stay behind alone.
  • We travel as a group, so it’s essential to respect everyone’s differences. In common spaces—whether natural places like rivers, mountains, trails, or lakes, or in places like hallways, restaurants, and transportation—it’s important to be mindful of the need to respect both conversations and moments of silence. To ensure everyone can enjoy the trip, we must make certain concessions and adapt to others’ needs.
  • Smoking is allowed, but it’s essential to prioritize the group's comfort. Therefore, please avoid intruding on others' space with smoke and respect non-smokers.
  • Travel documents are provided 8 days before the departure date.
