We will begin the day with a tour of the Historic Center, visiting the Zócalo, one of the largest plazas in the world. From there, we will head to the Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest religious temple in the Americas, which was built starting in 1537. Next, we will visit the National Palace. From this point, we will enjoy a panoramic view that includes the Central Post Office and the Palace of Fine Arts. Afterward, we will continue our tour to the National Museum of Anthropology, which offers the opportunity to explore, within its 40,000 m², the history and culture of pre-Columbian civilizations. These range from the Olmecs to the Mayans and Aztecs, who inhabited Tenochtitlán before the arrival of the conquerors. To conclude, the rest of the afternoon will be free for personal activities. At the end of the day, we will return to the accommodation.

Note: The National Museum of Anthropology is closed on Mondays.

DAY 3 • MEXICO CITY

At the designated time, we will begin our visit to the Basilica of Guadalupe, an important Catholic sanctuary dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Afterwards, we will head to Teotihuacán, which in Nahuatl means "The City of the Gods" or "the place where the Gods are born." This site is considered the epicenter of both the spiritual and material knowledge of Mesoamerican civilizations, and reflects the greatest expression of architecture, urban planning, and artistry on the continent. During the visit, we will explore the imposing Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, as well as the Pyramid of Quetzalcóatl, and walk along the famous Avenue of the Dead, the main avenue of the city. At the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, we will admire murals from that era. Next, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant near the pyramids (drinks not included). The rest of the afternoon will be free. Accommodation.

DAY 4 • MEXICO CITY - OAXACA

At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the Mexico City International Airport to take your flight to Oaxaca. Upon your arrival in Oaxaca City, you will be transferred to your hotel to check-in and settle in. At 3:00 P.M., we will meet in the lobby to begin our tour of this charming city, known as the City of Green Stone and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The walking tour of the historic center will allow you to discover the main points of interest in Oaxaca. We will begin by visiting the iconic 20 de Noviembre and Benito Juárez markets, where you can enjoy a variety of traditional foods and local products that will be hard to resist. We will continue our walk to the Zócalo, the imposing Cathedral, and the Templo de la Soledad, the patron saint of the city. At the Plaza de los Danzantes, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious regional snow (a type of ice dessert) to refresh yourself. The tour will continue with a visit to a chocolate factory, where you will learn about the grinding process and the different ways to prepare this delicious treat. The tour will conclude with a walk along the Tourist Walkway, where you can explore various shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries, until we reach the majestic Templo de Santo Domingo, a representative work of Mexican Baroque architecture built by the Dominican order. Return to the hotel for rest. Overnight stay.

DAY 5 • MONTE ALBAN – ARRAZOLA – CUILAPAM – COYOTEPEC

At the agreed time, we will meet in the hotel lobby to begin our journey to Monte Albán, the most important archaeological site in Oaxaca, located just 30 minutes away. This architectural complex, which was the heart of the ancient Zapotec civilization, features important structures such as the Central Plaza, the ball court, the south platform, the dancers’ plaza, and the observatory, among others. It is recommended to wear a cap, scarf, and comfortable shoes to fully enjoy the tour. Next, we will head to Arrazola, a charming village where you can admire the colorful alebrijes, hand-carved and hand-painted figures made by talented local artisans. These unique pieces reflect the strength and vibrant use of color in Oaxacan tradition. We will take some time to rest and enjoy a delicious buffet-style meal, where you can taste various regional dishes (drinks not included). After lunch, we will visit the former convent of Cuilapam de Guerrero, a place full of history and legends. This is where the leader Vicente Guerrero was executed in 1831, and its architecture has a unique energy that you must experience. Finally, we will arrive at San Bartolo Coyotepec, a village known for its traditional black clay pottery. The pieces are handmade, decorated using burnishing and casting techniques, and then fired in underground ovens. We will return to the hotel around 5:00 PM to rest and conclude the tour.

DAY 6 • TULE – MITLE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE – MEZCAL FACTORY - TEOTITLÁN DEL VALLE

At 9:00 am, we will meet in the hotel lobby to begin our tour, starting with a 25-minute drive to our first destination: the majestic Tule Tree, an impressive display of Oaxaca's stunning nature. Next, we will head to a place that tells the ancient history of the state: the caves of Mitla. Inside, valuable treasures have been discovered, such as petroglyphs in burnt red tones, representing human figures, animals, hands, arrows, and what are believed to be maps of the night sky. To access this fascinating site, we will walk along a stream until we reach the entrance to the caves.

Then, just 20 minutes away, we will arrive in the picturesque town of Mitla, where we will explore the famous archaeological site known as the City of the Dead. This fascinating city stands out for its walls adorned with pressed geometric designs, created without the use of glue. Additionally, we will learn how pre-Hispanic traditions blend with the religious influence of the conquest in the town, and enjoy its local crafts market.

On the way back, we will stop at a buffet-style restaurant where we can taste delicious traditional dishes from the region (drinks not included). After enjoying the meal, the tour will continue with a visit to a local artisan, who will show us the process of making candles used in significant events such as weddings, engagements, and wakes. We will also have the opportunity to create our own beeswax candle.

Later, we will head to a mezcal distillery, a traditional Oaxacan drink, where we will learn about the extraction and fermentation process, the different ways to consume it, and dive into the fascinating work of the artisans who produce this beverage.

Finally, to close the tour, we will visit Teotitlán del Valle, a town famous for its wool rugs. There, we will observe the entire process of carding, dyeing, and weaving wool on looms, and learn how a single rug can take between 6 months and a year to make. After the visit, we will return to the hotel to rest.
